Good Setup?

My previous computer was an entry level Radeon, AMD, Asus, that I am extremely unhappy with now because it is almost completely outdated. I am not very experienced with building computers, and choosing the right products, but I have come up with a plan that I would like approval on from some hierarchy. I went to The Elder Scrolls Forums for help choosing the components but a close freind of mine suggests that I first ensure that the setup will be reliable and compatible:

MOBO- MSI P6N SLI-FI LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 650i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard
CPU- Intel Core 2 Duo E4400 Allendale
GPU- GeForce 8600GT 256MB
RAM- PNY Optima 2GB DDR2 SDRAM

I would like the setup to be the least expensive possible, and play Half Life 2, World of Warcraft, Starcraft 2, Warcraft 3, The Sims 2 at max settings. It would also be nice if it was capable of running the next gen sims game well. It also needs to handle Vista to its full extent with no hicups.

You're going to have to have a real video card for that. Well, not for WoW, but for the others.

My 9600pro plays half-life 2 and warcraft 3 just fine, I think he should be okay.

Id get a different video card. Like a 7900GT or 7950GT. You dont need directx 10. I would also upgrade to the slightly more expensive MSI Platinum P6N motherboard. It will give you better performance for not much more. What OS are you getting? How about HDD or a CPU cooler? Which case? PSU?
