I have these, and really like them. They don't feel "flimsy" like other sets I've bought, and the are pretty sharp. My Mom got them for me for xmas.

The "gourmet" line is much cheaper than their "classic" line, and it is a flimsier knife in comparison, but I still like them more than any other set I have had.
Anyhow, here is the same set in the classic line:

I was thinking like 25 bucks for 3 or 4 knives...60 bucks is a bit out of my range
Henckels
Those are definitely at the bottom of the Henckels line. I have these, which are incredible (but much more expensive): http://www.amazon.com/Henckels-Inter...s+steak+kniveshttp://www.amazon.com/Henckels-Inter...1930962&sr=1-1
I have a set of these. I tend to prefer the Wusthof Steak knives better. The serrated edge on these knives to me seems incredibly dull and more like a saw. The texture it leaves after cutting steak is pretty low-class. It's like using a long bread knife on roast beef. Aside from being terrible for cutting compared to a higher quality steak knife, they are amazingly durable. Most likely because they are so dull to begin with.
Serrations aren't to help cut, they're to make the knife last forever.i use these for steak knives. a good cut of meat doesn't need serated knives.

If you wanna impress female friends with your style (used in many top Michelin restaurants around the world):

My sister has some kind of surely-expensive silverware with those dumbass sideways handles. Whatever moron thought that was a good idea needs a stern slap in the face with a bullet from a gun.
It's a flat sideway handle. Awesome knives. Learned about them from seeing Feran Adria (world's greatest chef) talk about them.
Michelin rated restaurants wouldn't be using them on their customers if they weren't extremely comfortable using them.![]()
That is a very good deal.http://www.cutleryandmore.com/furi-...-stainless-steel-steak-knife-set-case-p114737
On clearance (~$25 shipped)
non-serrated (easy sharpening and better slicing action)
one-piece (no crevices for germs to hide)
I have these and like them.
IMO it's important to have cheap steak knives so that you don't hate your guests when they inevitably abuse the shit out of them.
I really like those for the money. You should add WMF to your list of bang-for-buck too WMF set of 4I got these for my mother...

They cut great, and the quality is ok. They're interesting to look at. They look like folding pocket knives, but don't fold. They're French made, and you can sometimes find them at places like Marshalls. I'd get them for the visual appeal more than the quality, but they do cut.
2ndVictorinox knives are awesome. Most are stamped, not forged, so they are cheaper. Just about every review of Chef Knives places them very highly for their great quality and low price. So I'd expect their steak knives to be great, too.
