good school for programming?

A good friend of mine is looking to get into computer programming (specifically gaming, i.e. EA Games, etc) and already has a good base, C++, Java, and ASP. Now, what types of CSU's/UC's feed into company's like EA. I'm wanting to get into Computer Science and Marine Biology, but I don't know which, if any, schools feed into gaming companies. Any help or links would be greatly appreciated...

Does it even matter what 4year he/I go to, if you get your Masters? I could get into CalTech for my MS, but not for my BS

Undergrad matters, but not as much.

We're both majoring in Computer Science. He wants to work for a company that writes games, be it for console or PC, he doesn't really care. I want to write programs to help in the field of Marine Biology...
