So I know that rounded cables are the way to go to improve airflow inside a case, but everybody makes them. Which brand/type/model are considered the best/have the least signal noise, etc.? Is there a realistic maximum length I should try to stay under, or do the longer ones work just as well as the short?

there are no "brands" since there is no way to tell who made them. stores rebrand all the time. www.svc.com has nice prices, and i have some from them (white single and dual HDD and floppy). the ones i have are made from twisted pair ribbon cable. there are realistic lenghths, i would not use anything more than 4 feet.

common lengths are 18" or 24" if you really need it 36" ones are available.

Mday - Antec has rounded cables, and they're a well known computer brand, but who says they make 'em themselves, eh? ;)

I haven't had any problems with my Antec cables, but I can't say they're any better or worse than another brand.

I like the Gladiator's, but went with some Antec Cobra's because they offered 10" between the master & slave connectors. The Gladiator's were only 8".
