My philosophy of life paper is due on the 20th of April and I have to have at least 15 quotes and documentation. This is a ridiculous assignment as is...but to include other quotes? That just makes it a difficult ridiculous assignment.

Could ya'll help me out and point me in the right direction?

Thanks,
Paul

Edit: What does Tyler Durden say about not being that unique snowflake or whatever?"

THANKS!

I'm a good resource for famous quotes. Just follow me around the forums, and copy everything down that I say. In 50 years my quotes will be famous!

Fight Club quotes.

/edit: there's plenty of good quotes about consumerism, especially the urge to satisfy our never-ending wants a consumer (as opposed to needs).

The things you own end up owning you.

We're designed to be hunters and we're in a society of shopping. There's nothing to kill anymore, there's nothing to fight, nothing to overcome, nothing to explore. In that social emasculation this everyman is created.

Our generation has had no Great Depression, no Great War. Our war is a spiritual war. Our depression is our lives.

We were raised on television to believe that we'd all be millionares, movie gods, rock stars, but we won't. And we're starting to figure that out.

Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate, so we can buy sh!t we don't need.

also, another good one is

Of course it's company policy never to imply ownership in the event of a dildo. We have to use the indefinite article -- "a dildo" -- never "your dildo."

but that might not go over well with your teacher.

Well, you can either watch the movie :D, or you could get the song "This is Your Life" off the soundtrack. I'm sure you can find it on Napster or whatever equivalent that works. It's basically a song of Tyler Durden's quotes.

[edit] "Self improvement is masturbation." -Tyler Durden [/edit]

Hehe...I've already ranted a bit about Abercrombie and Fitch, MTV and the Gap. This might be a fun assignment afterall.

I wonder if I can involve my life here on the Forums!:D

-Self-improvement is masturbation. Self-destruction is the answer.

-You have to consider the possibilitythat God doesn't like you, he never wanted you. In all probability, he hates you. This is not the worst thing that can happen....

-You have to know that someday, you are going to die. Until you know that, you are useless.

--It's only after we lost everything that we are free to do anything.

-The people you're after are the people you depend on. We cook your meals, we haul your trash, we connect your phones, we drive your ambulances. We guard you while you sleep. Do not *&$# with us.

-You are not your job. You are not how much money you have in the bank. Not the car you dreve. Not the contents of your wallet. You're not your f%$&ing khakis. We are the all-singing all-dancing crap of the world.

Fight Club quotes...how original...

Anyway, quote Ralph Waldo Emerson, if you are gonna go cheap, you might as well quote something that is actually worth quoting.
