Hi all,

I love Pagis Pro, but I don't think Scansoft will be updating it, as it has not seen an update in a few years now and has a few issues running on XP.

Any similar suites that you use and like?

TIA, Dave

Get PaperPort. Best I've found. It comes bundled with Visioneer scanners or you can buy it by itself. :)

PagisPro has been replaced by OmniPage Pro 11. Works perfectly in XP. There is none better . . . no, not even Paperport. :)

Thanks Doomer. :) Any idea how this program's feature set compares with Pagis?

OmniPage does OCR.

PaperPort is a digital image management system.

The comparison is apples to oranges. I also believe PaperPort is well worth the investment.

As far as OCR is concerned, OmniPage is the long-time leader, but PC Magazine recently rated Abby FineReader as better for most users.

corky-g, unless things have changed (they may have) since I last looked, manly is right, and omnipage doesn't do document management like Pagis...has version 11 expanded in this respect?

I might have to look into paperport...I assume it can't read .xif files? I have many items saved in that format.
