Good reasons to NOT install quicktime or realplayer?

i see several folks who are not willing to install one or both of these players and was just wondering what reason would you not want to install it? some videos are real media or quick time files and could be worth watching once in a while...

I have them both installed as well. RealPlayer is still a suck ass format, but at least it doesn't suck quite as bad as it did in the old days. QT I don't have a problem with at all.

I don't much like the "Get Quicktime Pro Now" box that pops up every time you watch a vid.
I haven't installed it yet, but I've heard Media player classic plays divx and realplayer files...don't know about quicktimes.

But I have Real installed nonetheless to properly handle Real Media files.
No problems here, but if I had the choice, I wouldn't install it. "Real Alternative" doesn't do it for me.

Because the players are both bloated, and have irritating installs where you have to fight with it over how much bullshit gets installed alongside the program and how many file associations it steals. If you want to watch the videos, just use Windows Media Player classic with the real/qt filters installed.

An older version of Real Player is okay. My system has 8.0 basic. No problems except an occasional nag after media content is viewed. On the other hand, those jerk-offs at Apple nag me before playing any media files. Not only that, everytime their f**kin' plugin is utilized on a visited website, this obnoxious program automatically loads on subsequent startups until you remove in via MSCONFIG.
