Can anyone help me?
My setup:
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-SINXP1394
CPU: Intel Williamette 1.6Ghz
Memory: 2 - 512 MB DDR 333MHz (dual channel)
Video: NVidiz Geforce 4 TI 4200
NIC/audio: onboard
Storage: (all drives NTFS)
IDE 1: Master: 40Gig ATA-100
Slave: DVD ROM (UDMA2)
IDE 2: Master: 60 Gig ATA-100
Slave: none
IDE 3: Master: 120Gig ATA-100
Slave: none
IDE 4: Master: 120Gig ATA-133
Slave: none
IDE 3 and 4 makeup the RAID array with onboard ITE IT8212 controller. The serial ATA RAID is enabled in bios but not in use.
The Problem:
----------------
I setup two 120GB ATA drives in a RAID-0 config on IDE 3 and IDE 4 connectors (each as master with no slave) and they have worked fine for two weeks (drive R
. Yesterday I tried to analyze the RAID drive with Diskeeper 8.0 to see my level of fragmentation (as this is the drive that i save ALL my downloads to) and I got an error saying Diskeeper couldn't initialize. I tried the other 3 standalone drives that I have in the same system and it woked fine on them. I also noticed that the RAID array had now become drive D:. I used disk management to rename the drive letter to R: again, but when I tried to access using Windows Explorer, I got the error: "Drive R: is not accessible. The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable." I need help badly!!!! When I reboot and enter the ITE RAID utility, it shows that the array is intact and functional. The Windows version of the utility shows the same. Upon boot, XP's chkdsk says that the drive needs to be checked for consistency and it CAN see the volume label correctly. It reports over 80,000 unreadable file segments but doesn't have enough diskspace to corect any of them. In WindowsXP, properties for the drive show no drive label, the filesystem as RAW, capacity, used and freespace all as 0 bytes.
Is there ANYTHING that can be done to correct this error??
