That was said by Moonbeam.

Yes, those who voted for Gore were willing to replace one devil with another. The Bush voters were willing to replace a devil with an idiot.

Conservatives want government to stay out of the boardroom and to stay in the bedroom.
Liberals want the opposite.

You are easy to decieve.

The Politics of Worry
  • "The second item in the liberal creed, after self-rightousness, is unaccountablitiy. Liberals have invented whole college majors--psychology, sociology, women's studies-- to prove that nothing is anybody's fault" - P.J. O'Rourke

Quick to Degrade
  • "Although he considers himself a conservative, O'Rourke was quick to degrade both Democrats and Republicans. He described the Democrats as politicians for government activism who, among other things, promise to take 10 strokes off your golf game. Republicans, on the other hand, "say government doesn't work, get elected, and then prove it." O'Rourke also noted the differences between businessmen and politicians. He said businessmen ruin the country, but, "at least they make a buck," while politicians "do it for the fun of it."

You ever stop to wonder what political persuasion were behind each of those quotes? Not too many leaned toward the left, IMO.

And one of the greatest quotes from a Democrat, was so very un-left :

<a target=new class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.klise.com/learn/a-hist/ask-not.htm">"My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you:
Ask what you can do for your country."</a>

Some more from P.J. O'Rourke....

Government subsidies can be critically analyzed according to a simple principle: You are smarter than the government, so when the government pays you to do something you wouldn't do on your own, it is almost always paying you to do something stupid.

The French are a smallish, monkey-looking bunch and not dressed any better, on average, than the citizens of Baltimore. True, you can sit outside in Paris and drink little cups of coffee, but why this is more stylish than sitting inside and drinking large glasses of whiskey I don't know.

Even very young children need to be informed about dying. Explain the concept of death very carefully to your child. This will make threatening him with it much more effective.

A little twist on something I have heard. A Liberal is a Conservative who has not yet been mugged.
