I have a delta 38CFM fan on my heatsink right now, and the noise is getting to me. What is the best quiet fan that i can use. i don't really want to have to lower my clock speed, but that really shouoldn't be a problem. i'm at 1.85v and peak temp is 42 C according to MBM5. Idle is 31. thanks

Even with a slower fan that is quieter than the delta38 the problem in your case is that the fop has too many fins that create turbulence. I tried what you're planning and was disappointed.I switched from the fop38 to the taisol and have not had any heat problems. Taisol like a cheap generic POS but the 21cfm delta fan pushes a fair amount of air and gets the job done. It'll run a little hotter but a lot quieter. I even switched my other intel system from a gorb to taisol becuase it has a much lower pitch.

Teamawe.com has the very-quiet Panaflos if you want another option.

No, you shouldn't. You can also try turning your fan around (or the new fan if you buy a new one) so it sucks off the HS instead of blowing onto it. Or vice versa. One might be quieter, I don't know. Good luck

I have a Panaflo 120mm L1A and it's the best investment I've made in fans yet. I love it to death! Too bad my other one broke...LOL, it sucked a screwdriver into it. At least that's what I believe happened. :D I was moving stuff around my computer. Oh, I should first tell you that my case sits with the side panel off and my Panaflo(s) usually end up sitting outside of the case blowing in. Works quite well actually. Anyway, I had this one sitting out, and I was cleaning my room, and the next thing I know a screwdriver turned and moved forward, with the business end getting in the blades. It snapped off one of the blades. I was depressed for days...

Oh yeah, and I received that 60mm fan today...I'll test it shortly and tell you what I think.
