no way, i just want headphones then i'm all good.

i was asking people if the 280's benefit from an amp. sorry i phrased it wrong.

The remarkable thing about the 280's is that it's the only one in that price and quality range that doesn't really need to be run through an amp. These things are beasts on their own.

Almost every headphone benefits from an amp, but if you're going to get 280s and amp them, you might as well get A500/700s instead. Better overall sound quality, MUCH more comfort, and less cost (amps aren't exactly cheap).

If you really want to know, though, when amped, the HD280 Pro's soundstage opens up a bit, and the mids warm up a little bit (but not much). At least, this is what I experience.

Still no HD280! OMG headphones are something we take for granted! This suckksssss at night, lol, I have sleeping people in the house. I have to steal my dad's Sony MDR-600's and use them during the night and return them to his home theatre when I'm about to go to sleep. *bandit* 😛

Ew, V600...

at least this makes you appreciate your headphones more when you get them back. HD280s are a big step up from the crapphones (though I still don't like em 😉).

They're too... flat, not enough depth. The sound isn't as rich. It also blocks out like 10x times sound than the HD280's, that's not good. 😛
