I am looking to buy a PVR for my upcoming setup. I will be running a MSI K8N N4 mobo, a64 3000, 1 gig of pc3200 ram and a 120 gig hd. I have looked at Hauppage and ATI but what in ur opinion is the best PVR. I only want to record some shows but I would like to be able to watch TV while im on the comp. Want to spend under $100-150. Also, with digital cable, will my channel guide show up on the PVR software? THX

Spent quite a bit of time researching this when I bought my own card. Based on the reviews at the time (about 2 months back), the ATI Theatre 550 chipset was considered better than the Hauppage cards (although I'm sure there are many who prefer this brand). I personally got the Sapphire version, but I believe the recent Xtasy release actually comes bundled with BeyondTV. The picture quality on my card is very good and I have yet to have any problems with capping programs. Review link here: http://htpcnews.com/main.php?id=v550pro_1

"To sum it all up if you are in the market for a new PVR card I would Highly suggest the VisionTek Theater Pro 550. The excellent image quality combined with a great software bundle make this package an incredible deal. I really feel that you couldn't go wrong picking this card up for your HTPC. I think you would be hard pressed to get as much enjoyment out of anything else."

Pricegrabber has the MCE version for $108 and the regular PC one for $83.
