Hey guys. I'm looking for a nice, low cost psu for this rig.

Here's my specs:

1800+ xp
ECS K7S5A
Geforce2 Pro
512mb pc2100
52x cd-rom
floppy
maybe 3 fans?
hard drive

I was planning on getting a 300watt sparkle power supply

I was looking through a Tom's Hardware guide and saw that Fortron psus were highly rated too.

From newegg, a 300 watt sparkle would be $33 for me. A 300 or 350 watt Fortron for $32 shipped.

These fortrons seem to be a very good value.

Is there a better option I'm missing for completing my SETI rig? Oh, and I'm also planning on playing some divx occationaly on this, but I don't see why that would matter.

Thanks.

Pound for pound that Sparkle is one tough cookie to beat. If you can get one that cheap I say go for it.

cool, i thought sparkle would be a good choice. unless somebody comes up with something better, that's what i'll get in a few days.
