Good program to make your own "Magic Eye"

Anyone know of a program that will allow me to make a magic eye easily? Ideally, I'd like to be able to put text behind the main texture.

a magic eye is one of those things that is made of wavy lines that after staring "through" it for a while makes a 3D type picture appear. The official name is Single Image Random Dot Stereogram

and i have no idea how they make them...

Interesting...I might need to steal that idea for my school newspaper. That's the reason I need to make one of these deals, its going in the end of the year "fun issue." Now, if only someone had a good program or method to make these things I'd be set.

stereogram creator i dlled yesterday and it is easy to make stereograms. you just create a depth field/map (black and white image representing different depths) and give that to the program and it will make one for you.

i didnt try stereogram explorer 2.2, but that looks nifty too.

How do you crate a depth map?

i guess when i said it was easy, it was easy because they provided the depth maps =) it looks like you could just make a 3d object and render it grayscale, and that would be a depth map. other than that, i wouldnt know. i am open to suggestions.
