That is his signature. it has nothing to do with you.

You'll get better replies if you move it into the correct forum.

nothing.
its in his sig.
i havent come across a horrible printer.
they all guzzle ink.
that $130 should be able to nab you a hp photosmart XXXX pretty easily.
go with a tray feed and not a top loader.(iirc, most hps are tray feed)

Lexmark = yuck. They will rape rape RAPE youu on ink charges. Lexmark operates the same way Gillette does with their Mach 3 razors - give you the razor (printer), tell you the cartridges (blades).

Get a Canon with seperate color ink carts.
Their ink is so much cheaper than the others, and the printers are top notch.

Check the peripherals forum for some great recommendations.

The Canon i560 is a nice, affordable solution.

Good suggestion you could buy this for a good price from Staples.com (maybe lower elsewhere, I didn't check all stores)

$129.98 Canon i560
+$20.02 miscellaneous stuff (whatever you want)
-$30 off $150 coupon
-$30 FREE Staples GC

You are 100% right, but for $30 you get a printer with 2 cartridges. Throw it out when the ink is gone.

If money's tight, go for Canon i320, can be had for $50 or less. I abolutely love this printer and it actually prints very good 4x6 photos as well.

Yeah whatever you get stay away from Lexmark. As others have suggested Canon, HP, and Epson won't be quite so expensive on refills and offer better looking prints. Look at the price of the ink cartridges before you buy. Also not all ink cartridges/brand of printers will print the same amount. There was a thing on techtv where lexmark printed the least amount with the worse looking prints (this is in the cheap printer catagory). I think canon and epson printed a similar amount. They didn't review any inexpensive hp printers.

Also, try out generic ink cartridges. Way cheaper. 123inkjets.com has reasonable prices. There's another one that was posted in HotDeals that was $1 a tank, I don't know the URL because it's on my other computer, which is FUBAR.

Get an HP 1100 laserjet. It works pretty good for me. I upgraded to 2100 and it stills going strong. Don't go for those inkjet printers. The Hot Deal forum has a post about it. Just do a search. Good luck.

Great choice. $99 at Sams. FAST and great quality.
Takes generic carts at 1.5-2 dollars each at monsterinkjets.com and megatoners.com
