Good Printer?

Hey guys. I'm looking for a printer for university next year. It doesn't have to be anything super. I just want one that prints relatively quickly (inkjet stil lthough), can print color photos decently (but I'm not expecting lifelike photo printing), and ABOVE ALL, a printer that doesn't need ink refills every month.

I've heard Canons are good for this. I've heard their ink cartridges are the cheapest and last fairly long. Can anyone suggest a good model for me? It doesn't have to be Canon, it could be Epson or HP, whatever. However I'd like to stay away from Lexmark, as I have a Lexmark multifunction here at home and the software is the shits.

Love my Canon 4000 beautiful print and pics.

My experience with HP - noisey and slow and expensive ink

Epson - fast, but go through a lot of ink and expensive if you buy theirs. Found that refilling older cartridges usually means streakiness. Even the cheap ink carts don't last too long if you do a lot of printing.
