Ninja pic

2002 Kawasaki ninja 500r, 6300miles, red/black never been dropped/wrecked.

Seller is asking $2800 for it with a recent $500 dollar tune up from the dealer.

Should I buy?

Something doesnt look right, has it been lowsided? I owned a 99 Ninja 500 a while ago and something is just different with that one... plus the replacement bar ends are suspicious.

The guy told me the only "mods" he did were the chrome decal on the gas tank and painted the wheels a silver color.

Lowsided? He just told me that he has never wrecked it and if you look closely at the picture, there are two marks near the edge of the plastics near the radiator that are chipped. My assumption are rocks

The decals just dont look right to me, ask him specifically if he has lowsided it or tipped it. Wrecked is far to broad. One could argue that if you completely mashed the thing up but were able to repair it that it wasnt wrecked. I would ask if he has the original bar ends... if he doesnt, ask why, and carefully check the feeler pegs and hand controls for signs of scraping. Make sure none of the tabs on the fairing are broken/cracked.

I had an '01 500R for about a year, and the decals actually look fine to me. Mine was purple-ish, but everything other than the color was the same as the OP's picture.

As for the price, you could possibly talk him down a few hundred. I sold mine (back around '03) to a friend for $2500, although it had somewhere around 11k miles by the time I was through with it.

That sounds like a reasonable price to me. I would do what whisper said and offer him $2500. Most people can be talked down a few hundred pretty easily.

If you do get it just remember to ride safe!

Yeah I got the gear for the bike, helmet and jacket as well as gloves. I'll get boots next paycheck.
