i recently have a powmax powersupply and have heard very bad things about this particular brand. I have had the powersupply since november of 2004 and had a couple of voltage problems and some sudden restart so i decided to get a new one.
specs:
asus p5gdc-v deluxe mobo
intel p4 2.8 ghz cpu
1 gb of patriot ram(i think i might buy corsair or a more respectable brand if it makes a difference)
intel gma 900 onboard video (after i get the psu i am upgrading to the ati x800xl pci-e)
5 coolermaster case fans
stock heat sink

i have been looking at the antec smart power 2.0 500W psu for 75.00 at newegg
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817103937

i was wondering if anybody has a good as if not better powersupply recommendation for very close to the same price. or if anyone agree's with my decision

- Fortron Source (FSP), any of their 400w and higher models (preferrably the ones with 12cm fans in them)
- OCZ, the modstream 450 is probably the perfect PSU for that setup price-wise, it can be had for $70-80 (or possibly cheaper if you watch newegg like a hawk). Check monarch for the cheapest price (possibly free shipping & no tax for CA people).
- Enermax, can't recommend an exact model.
- Seasonic, the 380w and higher; a little more expensive, but a little bit better PSU in some peoples opinion.

ocz modstream 450 or 520 i would get 520 since its like 20 dollars more you dont really need it but still.
