Good Pocket Knife?

What are some good pocket knifes? I dont want one bigger than about 2.5 - 3inches and i would prefer that it locks when its open.

Im also looking to get a bigger knife to kep in my truck, something with like a 6inch blade.

Get a Cabelas or Gander Mountain catalogue/magazine. That'll give you plenty of choices.

All of my pocket knives are old-school. I don't think they make them like this any more. They're really nice though.

To my knowledge, swiss army knives don't lock.

Get a Leatherman. Its slightly bigger than 2.5", but its a multitool so a cop may look the other way. I would also suggest a good sized Mag lite over the 6" blade for your truck. Not sure what you need a knife for, but if its for self defense a good solid wack from a Mag will but someone down.

Already got a 3 D Cell maglite in there. The knife is more for if i need to cut anything when im offroading.

Gerber makes excelent knives.

I like this one.

actually I like alot of those knives on that site.

dude thats almost a 5" blade? what happend to 2.5" anyway you can get a Benchmade Mini-Griptillian it has like a 2.9" blade and is a realy sweet knife. i used it for like 6 months before i switched to the full sized Griptillian. if you don't mind liner-locks(bleh) then CRKT makes a few realy nice ones.

Had a really nice Swiss Army with all the bells and whistles. Could cut moldy cheese like no other...I miss it.

lol, i just noticed that. I googled that Benchmade Mini-Griptillian and it looks pretty nice. I have no idea what a liner lock is though.

Also wheres some good placed to buy knifes? I would really like to handle it before i bought it so i dont want to buy it on line really. Im thinking Academy, Oshmans and hardware stores (like lowes) would have good selections.

ahh just saw the for the truck part added. for the truck i'd stear clear of haveing a concealed knife since i think the anything larger than 4" would be considered an illegal concealed weapon if you get pulled over. your less likely to get trouble if you keep a small handaxe and a saw tucked away and it's going to be alot more usefull.

Well im looking for two different knifes one a pocket knife and the other a non folding one. Now that you mention that about getting pulled over Im thinking ill just keep the knife at home and whenever i go on off roading trips just take it along.

most major knife makers should have an option on their website to pull up local dealers. after you find a couple you like lookup local places that cary the brands you want to see. the liner lock is how the blade is released so it can be folded. the two main types and liner-locks where it has a little tab in the handle you push down and then drop the blade down. others have a button on the lower back of the knife as the release. i don't care for either i realy like Benchmades axis-lock, it's realy fast and easy to use.
