I'm moving to NYC and the kids that i was supposed to live with wanna live in midtown in some expensiveass places (1500+). I'm looking for something a lot cheaper (1000-1200 a mo) in the NYU campus area. Any suggestions?

Oh yeah and don't tell me that I won't ever find anything for that price in manhattan...thats bs

$1500 a month is expensive for a shared apartment? Or do you mean $1500 a person?

$1500 a person, not sharing room.

Craigslist really is the cheapest way to go about it. You should also check the newspaper classified sections and if not that, then contact a realtor.

1000-1200 a person is a pretty nice budget...but you're not going to find anything in the NYU area for that price, try murray hill (although the B&T crowd there is seriously getting on my nerves)

Are you going to NYU? If so, congrats! I have two friends from UM going there for grad/law school.
