I am about to call up this girl and ask her out. I dont have any idea where to ask her to go though. I am 22 and she is 18. I feel like the whole "dinner and movie' thing just provides for a very possible awkward situation. I can't really take her out to any bars, because she isnt old enough. I normally go to the casinoes or to clubs when I take girls out for the first time, because with others around it is less tense. Any suggestions ?

Does anyone have some SERIOUS suggestions ?

(Although the picnic is a nice idea, a little too much for the first date..IMHO )

If she likes sports (some of us girls do ;) ) a baseball game would be a good idea. (Stop laughing) Lots of people around, BUT you have lean in close to talk because of the noise of the crowd.

On our first date I took my wife of 18 years to a museum. Very classy, nonthreatening and relatively inexpensive. (Impressed her too; it was the first time anyone had ever taken her out like that.)

FYI: for our second date I took her to a Golden Gloves match. Just wanted to show her I was a well-rounded guy.

Ok ok. For a little less "romantic" approach. How about miniature golfing. It's a nice time out. Have fun and stuff. You know.

Or possibly some other form of childish fun.

Mall? Bookstore? Coffeeshop? Somewhere that you can have fun, and also get to know each other too. Walk in the park?....

well I jst called her and she didnt answer. This sux! I only have her cell phone number. I wonder if she saw my number on her Caller ID and just didnt answer. No answering machine on the cell phone makes me wonder. Usually the only time the voice mail doesnt pick up in when the phine is off....i am so paranoid.....I dont want to keep calling her if she is intentionally avopiding my calls! GOD !!! I am syuch a LOSER!!!

Do NOT take her somewhere that 18 year olds hang out. All of her friends will be there. The museum idea is cool; just do not take her to a science museum unless she is geeky too. You are also correct in staying away from food; never know when coke will spurt out your nose...or hers.

Other ideas:

Auto show (you are paying for it, why not??)
Home remodeling show (tell her you want her to pick out "our" furniture)
Computer expo (show her how much geek knowledge you have).

:)

But seriously...
A sporting event is cool, or a trip to the planetarium. If you live in the country, go for stargazing. Sort of like a picnic at night...and if you spurt coke out your nose, she will not see it...

I have to ask though, is there something you like about younger girls? Personally I could never go out with a younger chick. I prefer same age at least or a couple years older. Easy on the eyes is nice but someone who can hold a nice conversation is better.

I like the mini golf and museum idea. The beach is probably a bit to much for the first date but later on maybe.

I hope your right, cause if she is getting all these calls logged by her phone she might think I am a little desperate...(i guess I am though)
