Shoes are one thing I'd never buy online. I've bought computers, guitars, gummy bears, and a package of antique Choco Chip cookies, but never shoes. I just need to be able to try it on first.

Really great store - free shipping in both directions, so if something doesn't fit, send it back for free and get a full refund. Also, tons of shoes to choose from (I was able to get a pair of Adidas Sambas (with a short tongue) in white, which I could not find in any B&M store).

DEFINITELY Zappos. I've probably ended up buying more than a thousand dollars worth of shoes from there and returning all but a few. Shipping is free both ways and until the end of the month 1-day shipping is free! They're very easy to work with and returning is a snap. The only complaint that I have is that they often have a limited range of sizes for a given shoe.

Edit: forgot to mention that you can return any shoe within 365 days!
