I am looking for a good place to get a permanent email address.

I want something short, like msn.com, and i dont mind paying a little onetime fee or something, or like a few bucks yearly, as long as it is short and permanent.

You can get a POP3 account from me if you want. I don't think the signup function on my site works any more. PM me if you are interested.

The real solution is to buy a domain name. There's a good chance you can get something close to your own name in one of the new country codes (like name.us). Then find the cheapest reliable host you can get that will provide a mailserver and let you host your own domain. Then you are set for life. I was able to get my name in .us and went ahead and paid $100/year for full featured hosting but you can get much cheaper or free hosting if you look around.

Free Yahoo!Mail is excellent, IMHO. Just make sure you don't give it out to anything where spam might find it, and you'll be fine. :)
