I'm new to messing with computers and don't have a lot of spare little screws and such. Where is a good place to buy something like this? I'm also in need of one of those cover plates that screws in the rear slot when it's not being used. That sort of stuff..

Computer store? Home Depot? ?

TIA,

Sal

I got most of mine with my case, but you generally need CT's and FT's which I dont see too much at hardware stores.

All that kind of weird stuff can be found here. I have never bought from them, but I plan to buy some cat5 from them (good prices)

but lots of computer stuff and save all the extras. heheh

seriously, that's what i do.

but anyway, there's a few local computer shops around my place (NOT big time electronics stores mind you) and you can go in and they have tons of screws and stuff that they will either give to you or at least let you grab a handful for a couple bucks...

other than that, i guess i'd be interested to know if someone actually knows where you can buy the stuff. :)

Look at my post. They sell bags of CT's and FT's and those red cardboard washers amoung other stuff.

A regular hardware store, even for the metric screws used for CD drives. They also have nylon washers for mounting motherboards and knurled knobs so you can open the case without a screwdriver.

Try to avoid computer stores for things like this because they usually charge more.

Like TunaBoo said, Cyberguys has all that stuff and more. They are reasonably priced, shipping is reasonable, etc. I have bought from them more than a few times and haven't had any problems in my dealings with them. They'll also send you a paper catalog that makes good bathroom reading.
