Le Bistro is a great french place right next to grace cathedral. It is in the 20 dollar range and is really nice. Check it out. I love the steak and fries from $15 mmmm....

Dude, there are about a million good places to eat in SF. But for some REALLY special
places, go accross the bay to the north in the Sausalito area (places right on the bay
that look over at SF). The only name that comes to mind is Spinaker, but I'm sure there
are several now.

I don't know about the rest of San Fransisco, but in the touristy district (Fisherman's Wharf) there are no inexpensive places to eat. One night, we got real tired of being ripped off by all these restraunts near piers that never expect to see their customers more than once, so we figured we'd save a buck or two by eating at Denny's. Most Denny's I've seen had entrees for $5-$6. Not this, one. I paid about $15 for a short stack of pancakes

If yer going to Sausalito try Mikayla Restaurant.

It's located in Casa Madrona Hotel.

$20/person would only get you an entree though.

There is a really good Japanese place in the Metreon called Senraku. It's not as good as the Samurai Japanese restaurant in Beverly Hills, but it is one of the best Japanese places in SF in my opinion. If Japanese is not your thing, there are tons of places in North Beach that serve great Italian.

kaiotes:

Le Cheval (Vietnamese, nicest i've seen, not sayin' that much) in Oakland, or Yoshi's (Japanese, decent food) or Kincaids (Seafood, closer to ~$30) in Jack London Square. Some people like Old Spaghetti Factory in Jack London too, I don't. Actually, I don't REALLY like any of 'em but they're decent for ~$20.

There're a few other nice restaurants there I haven't been to. I wouldn't recommend most of the others. These places aren't as nice, and the food probably isn't as good as the ones I listed in SF, but Jack London Square is probably one of the nicest parts of Oakland.

Decent J-food elsewhere in Oakland: Uzen, Tachibana (sit at the bar), Kirala (in Berkeley but deserves a mention).

Honestly, I'd go to Zachary's in Oakland, (near Berkeley), not fancy, but the loud, busy, trendy atmosphere and good food definitely makes up for it. Best deep dish pizza I've ever had, bar none. Split one, and chicks'll go fer 'em cuz they ain't greasy. Won't look like yer trying too hard to impress her either. Haha, if you just wanna know where to do some serious grubbin' or if you want pricier places, lmk.

Computers are just a hobby, my passion is food. ;)
