Good place to buy an older Fat Playstation 2?

I want to pick up an older fatty PS2, not the new slim one. Forums & ebay are not so hot and all retailers I've looked at only carry the slim one. Anyone know where else to look?

Yeah, that's probably a good choice. Gamestop/EB might carry a couple old-style used PS2s

Heh... I'm in the US! I don't know how widespread they are though. They may be a fairly local chain. They are just a place you where you can sell and buy used games and systems. Maybe they have something similar in your area?

I know!

I am kind of curious why the stopped making any Fat PS2's , anyone that wants a hard drive for FF11 cant unless they got the fat one.

I prefer the fat ones because I find the buttons on the slim one difficult to press becuase they physically blend in so well with the case. and also I end up pushing the console all over the place because it doesn't have enough weight to counteract the button pushing process.

If you live around L.A., Game Dude might be a good place to look.

Loading games from the HDD is so nice, the loading times in DQ8 aren't that bad from the disc, but they're pretty much non-existent from the HDD.
Some games don't seem to benefit from it though.

Yeah, its just for my bedroom tv. My brothers are into PS2 and have a ton of games, figured it'd be nice to play once in awhile

There's only one button... and if you can't learn to press the button without moving the console, you must be retarded.

In any case, it's possible to add a USB hard drive to a Slim Ps2, so you can still play FFXI.
