Good place to buy a used car

Specifically I am looking for a 1988-1991 Honda CRX; I have found a few leads on online sites. I am looking to spend 2-3k. A little rust is fine just as long as it has fewer than 120k and runs good. So far I have tried autotrader.com, cars.com, carsoup.com, carmax.com, ebaymotors, autobytel. Are there any sites I am missing?

I know I should probably just pick up a Sunday paper but I like looking on the internet better.

I should probably add that I am in Madison Wi. Any advice would be appreciated.

yea, me too. Im selling my ford 2002 lariat-like like brand new, cause i want a japanese car or truck. Ive heard "car max", but am skeptical. Im inclined to go with a dealer "certified pre-owned" with warranty.

168k miles (which isnt bad for a honda)
I am wondering how much I should offer for this car
The seller doesnt know really how much he wants to ask for the car

kbb says 800 trade in 1500 retail, but these cars go for a bit more than that. I have 2300 that I can pay right now, I am thinking about offering 1500 and going from there, what do you guys think?

does your area have a craigslist page? that's where i ended up finding my car, but with all used cars, patience and vigilance is of the essence.

fixing the rust and probably leaving it fairly stock, might thow B16 or b18 engine into it.
