The last time I got suit was JC Penny many many years ago.

Since then I've just been buying slacks, shirts, and jackets 'informally' at department stores.

I need to get a nice fitted suit for my wedding. But I don't want to spend a lot ($300?~). How much do they go for nowadays...

Men's Warehouse is pretty solid yes? Who else does tailoring?

for around $300, try the Bar III suits at Macy's. They have slim and extra slim. The jackets fit nicely

jcp is clearing out the wooster era suits
h&m
macy's
jcrew factory

a little bit more but if they have a b&m location nearby, suit supply is good. I think it's about $497. The Napoli is what you want to pick up.

edit: Also need to factor in tailoring costs.

I like Men's Warehouse. They're having a BOGO sale right now.

If you can find some coupons and wait for a sale, Macy's has some decent suits available. Gotta buy it at the right time though. Recently I was able to get a very nice Alfani dark navy blue 3 piece suit (pants, jacket, vest) through macy's online and total cost was just slightly above $100.

Decent suits, tailored and custom made to your measurements. I've got 2 from them as well as several shirts and they're good. Order soon though, as they take a few weeks to make.

You can get some huge flops with them. They have a big thread over at styleforum re: indochino.

EDIT: I was actually looking for a funny link to something else and came across this:

What's wrong with the old suit? Oh, right, you're too fat to fit in that one now.

So you'll be fat and wearing a cheap suit on your wedding day. Your wife picked a winner.
