Ive got a friend who needs a graphics card, and he has no agp slot. Good 3d/fps performance is a priority. $200 max!

InnoVision I think makes a PCI GeForce2 MX...not 100% sure though...
3dfx is the only major provider for PCI

There is a Voodoo5-5000 PCI but I think that would be more than 200 bux

Oke, thx folks, I think Ive encouraged him to go for the v4 4500.......though I wish he would spend the extra to get a v5 5500.

Don't get the MX2 pci version, it is a poor performer comparing to its AGP conterpart.

The v4 should perform alot better than the v3, so I suggest you spend the extra money and get that one. I think the v4 PCI ggoes for around $150-160 at some stores.

What's an MX2?

PCI and AGP interfaces don't affect performance very much. 10 FPS at max.

The Voodoo 4/5 PCI sounds good, I remember hearing about a Radeon PCI, it may be worth looking / waiting for this?

I have an ATI All-In-Wonder Pro. Had it for two years. . not the best for frame rates, but I've yet to see a game that is too slow or jerky. Great PCI card for video capture and TV viewing (kind of a novelty for a while, don't even have the TV in hooked up anymore).

You can check out the overview of video cards in the October hardware report from ixbtLABS.
Scroll down the page a good ways to the Video section. The whole article is a good read.
They don't feel the Voodoo is as good as the GEForce.

Also, there is a GEForce roundup with some observations at G256.
They list the PCI cards that are available.
