Guys,

Second post. (looks like the first got lost in the recent outage, I had to resubscribe and even got my origonal user name. Looks like they had to roll back some recent changes.)

I have a HP Pavilion that I would like to upgrade the card. What is the best card for my old box? I have heard that the Vodoo 3 is pretty good. I would like to keep this under $150.00.

My box:

Pavilion 8275
pII 300
48mb ram (soon another 128 arives via ups)
10g hd
dvd
15 inch monitor (I will probably be upgrading that soon too)

Thanks for any tips.

The V3 3000 is a good card that will suit you well. The ATI Radeon 32mb DDR is available for $150 @ CompUsa ($200 - $50 mail in rebate) which is also a great card, but will probably be limited by the CPU.

Yeah Voodoo 3 is great for older PCI systems. Even Voodoo II is pretty good for about 35 bucks. Radeon will be very CPU limited - plus you will have some trouble finding a PCI model (dunno if they even have em yet).
