good or bad deal?

hi

i had to pick up a used 17" CRT monitor at lunch today for use when repairing other people's computers. and, just to have on standby as a spare.

i bought a 17" NEC MultiSync XV17 for $56, tax included. looks to be in good shape.

did i get hosed, or is this ok?

If your purchase was time sensitive, then you did what you had to do.

If not, fyi, I recently found a fully functional 17" CRT curbside, waiting for the trash, and have seen them for $10 @ yard sales.

There are stacks of old CRT's sitting around the EE/CS building at my university. They're essentially free to take. Some are as big as 19", but admittedly, none are all that great in quality 🙁

Does it work? Is it younger than 5 years old? That should be fine. If you lived in So Cal, however, I would've given u a ViewSonic for free... 🙂

🙂 thanks for the offer. unfortunately, i made my home in much less sunny climes :Q

i'm not sure of the age. i pretty much grabbed the NEC because i am still using one that is about 7 years old 🙂 they seem to have some longevity about them.
