I signed up for the beta when i read about it in August I think and the Early Access beta just opened today. The interface seems nice enough to me and hopefully the games will work well since they've all been updated to work with Vista/XP.

Also, if you can still get in, its Buy One Get One free on Interplay games until Sept 21st or so. I plan on getting Fallout 1 and 2 all for $5.99

Cool, thanks OP, this sounds pretty good. Do they have a list of available titles anywhere?

I updated the OP with the games that they have on there right now. Most are $5.99 and one or two are $9.99. Also they say they'll be releasing new games every week and announcing new games every Thursday.

Don't let your DRMs turn into nightmares (clever, eh?). You won't find any intrusive copy protection in our games; we hate draconian DRM schemes just as much as you do, so at GOG.com you don't just buy the game, you actually own it. Once you download a game, you can install it on any PC and even re-download it whenever you want, as many times as you need, and you can play it without an internet connection.

 thanks OP! I signed up for the beta

I downloaded Fallout last night and didn't have a single problem installing and playing it. So far its a pretty sweet service.

I got in. Bought Descent 1/2 and got Descent 3 for free. Waiting on Stonekeep, man I loved that game.

Edit: I have a small issue with the installers. They take FOREVER to come up, AND they give me a UAC prompt.

Just signed up. Looks like I am too late for the beta however.

I purchased Fallout for 5.99 and immediately got a coupon code for a free Interplay game and of course I used it for Fallout 2. I never played either game (yea..shame on me). The downloads were fast and there is no "Good Old Games" interface or anything..just download what you bought. You'll find a list of your purchased games in your account page with links to download the game executable, wallpaper, manual and old school reference sheet and the fallout soundtrack. Each executable is its own GOG installer and each game goes under "GOG.com" in the start menu.

The games work flawlessly under my Vista install and on my hdtv the games fill the screen (though I guess that will be different depending on what your display is). Since each game is its own executable you can always save it to DVD with all the extras though of course you can redownload them at the website anytime. I'm impressed and I hope these guys do well.

I'll pick up the MDK games next since I never played the original and only briefly played the Dreamcast MDK2.

Just got back from traveling and moving when I found the beta e-mail in my inbox. Got Fallout with Fallout 2 free. JOY! Downloading as we speak and cursing having to be in the office.

I just signed up on 9/17/08.
Hope I get my key quickly.
Plan on getting Fallout series, Giants, Shogo, Operation Flashpoint,Jagged Alliance, Freespace etc.
The fact they work with XP makes me happy.

If Shogo works on Vista, I will be buying it. That game didn't work on any OS except Win98SE last time I checked. Very fun game too.

Fantastic! I'm definitely picking up Fallout 1 & 2 (hopefully we can apply the user bugfix patch to F2), and Giants: Citizen Kabuto. Giants was a great fun game, I hope you'll all give it a shot.
