I moved in Sept. 2008 and thought I took care of all the important address changes. While living at my current address I have purchased many things via paypal, they came to this address since I made sure to change it in my paypal account.

Today I bought something on ebay, which is linked to my paypal account. Paid with paypal, got the confrimation today, and it is being shipped to my old address! WTF, you'd think they'd pick the verified paypal address since that is where the money came from, and the fact that i've had many other things purchased via paypal sent here, but no, they ship it to an address i haven't lived at in 8 months...

I checked my ebay addresses and i hadn't changed it. Thing is, i haven't bought anything from ebay in at least 2 years, so it wasn't one of those big bells going off to "change address"

luckily my mom is living at our old address, but if not, what the hell could i have done in this situation?

Why would they sync it? It's still two separate sites. Don't blame the site for your obvious and glaring oversight. I love it when people try to point the blame for their mistakes at anything they can lash out at.

I just checked ebay again, they have a very old address still in my profile but i can't delete it because that address doesn't exist in my paypal account. nice.

you're right to a certain extent i suppose, but didn't ebay buy paypal? Why would paypal send to an old address just because the address on ebay is old? shouldn't the "pay" address hold more weight than the "auction" address?

I recently made this mistake too, but the seller was smart enough to check first.
To begin with, it makes zero sense for the seller to be receiving an address from eBay and from PayPal. If they wanted people to confirm their addresses, there are much better ways.

I disagree with PayPal and eBay being two different sites as a legitimate excuse. 1) My key fob works with both sites. 2) Everyone knows that you pretty much HAVE to use PayPal with eBay 3) PayPal and eBay disputes routinely end up affecting both PayPal and eBay accounts.
