ok just a few questions.

1) if I bridge 2 channels does the load get cut in half? Like from 4 to 2 ohms? could someone school me? I need a better understanding of ohms bridging, putting speaks in parralel, and stuff. I am working with this amp and 2 5 ohm JBL 12" subs. thanks

2) I have 2 Jensen amps. I wanna connect them each to 1 JBL P-1200 sub. ( i have 2) So.. should I run 2 8 gauge wires to the battery or get a distrobution block and only run 1 4 gauge then split it? Please explain the pro's and con's of this? Thanks guys

Well if you have 2 5ohm subswoofers, you can either parallel or series wire the subs. With parallel, you will end up with a 2.5ohm load. And with series you will end up with a 10ohm load. Im not entirely sure if your amp will support these type of loads though. The JBL sub must be an older sub because now the majority of subs on the market are Dual 2ohm, SVC 4ohm, and Dual 4ohm subs. I suggest that take a look over at the tutorials at [l]www.jlaudio.com[/l]. They have some great info on parallel and series wiring as well other tips on box constuction etc.

If you need further help, jump over to the forums onEliteCarAudio or CarStereos.org. The guys at either of the forums will be able to help you out with any further questions.

our amp's bridged specs:

Peak Power Bridged @ 4 ohm
RMS Power Bridged @ 4 ohm

No way you can run the subs in parallel.
You might want to consider series, then hooking that bridged, 10 ohm (easy to push for the amp) load.
Or running them individually on their own channels.

Hook 'em both ways and see which is better.

Definetely run 1 4guage line then split it into a pair of 4's or 8's in your trunk.
A 4 guage line should be able to handle more current than 2 8's.
More current = cleaner peak response + less amp stress
