OfficeMax is having an anniversary sale this week and has a slew of good deals. One that I took advantage of is an Executive High-Back Leather Chair, normally $129.99, on sale this week for $79.99. You can order it online or buy it in person. It's free delivery if you order online.

Also, I don't think any other stores are doing this, but OM is giving away an external Zip-100 USB drive with every purchase of WindowsME (full version or upgrade; not the promotional upgrade (blue box)). It's a $60 instant rebate and a $40 mail-in rebate.

<Edit> Just got an email saying that there's also a $25 off $100 coupon you can get (first time shoppers only) by going to OfficeMax's website here. This would only work with the WindowsME deal though, since the chair already has the $50 subtracted so it's not $100.

If you have to upgrade from Windows 95, this is a good deal, especially if you need the drive, otherwise, get the step-up from Windows 98 for $50 at Staples and the other software available free after rebate, then apply the $40 off $150 coupon (code at techbargains) (you will need to get more software to get the price up)and get the ME for $23 AS WELL AS five free software packages (you have to use a code to get it) and then order CHECK-IT NETOPTIMIZER, LOGITECH KEYBOARD, ZIP MAGIC 4, STREETS & TRIPS 2001, MCAFFEE VIRUS SCAN/FIREWALL. All are free after rebate, as well as some others, BUT THEY HAVE TO BE BOUGHT ON THE SAME INVOICE AS WINDOWS ME) You might want to get Eudora 4.2 and Peachtree Accounting for Windows (both free after rebate) as well, but they don't need to be purchased with ME, so you can get them separately, and then apply another coupon and use the money you're saving to get some goodies you need, like printer cartridges.

Plus you could get something for free. Add something to get it over a $100 and use a $20 off $100 coupon available elsewhere( I hope it hasnt expired)

Just thought I'd add that it's a pretty good chair, especially for the price. I figured it'd suck but I sat in it at the store and really liked it. Took about 20min to assemble, too.

And thanks DAM, for clarifying.

A warm deal I saw there -- they have Kingston Value RAM, $30 for 32MB, no coupons or rebates. If you need a quick RAM fix, that's a good price for a B&M.

That's PC100.

Ya, that chair ain't that bad. It is real leather although, it's not the best soft leather out there. Still, comfy enough to sit in. I only wish it was able to tilt back without having such a "springy" feeling in it. I like to lay in my chair. =)

Of course, there is that version of the chair for $250......

Dude, just unscrew the bottom knob all the way (until it stops). After doing that to mine, it's now so easy to rock back that it's almost impossible not to lay back when you sit in it. :)

Is that Kingston RAM price valid for all OM stores? Any discounts on 64 or 128 sticks? 128MB ValueRam prices dropped a couple bucks today, hopefully this will become something of a trend.

The RAM price didn't appear to be store-specific as I think it was printed in the ad (though it could be a regional thing). The prices for 64MB and 128MB didn't seem all that great ($80 and $140 or something like that -- maybe higher, didn't strike me at the time as being even a warm deal).
