Good non-video stress test for my Duron?

OK, I have my Duron 800 @ 928MHz, and it seems comfortable. I was recommended Prime95 to keep it on a load. So I go and run it. 12 hours later I check on it, seems to be doing OK, appears to be at 100% CPU and all...restart, check temp (In Win2k, so no SW that will do it to my knowledge), and it is only 41ºC! It originally was at 37ºC idling at 800.
Is this just good cooling and good luck (Chrome Orb on my duron), or is there a better stress test for it? I want to be sure I'm not at all making it run flaky as I run the speed on up.

TIA

Another thing you can do is just run RC5 and see how long it'll keep running ;). So far its been over a month and still no reboots needed. Sweetness...

About your temp readings, its not that unusual to not see a big jump in temp for the AMDs. The reason is that unlike the Intel chips, there is no temperature reading provided by the CPU. This forces all the temperature readings to be done externally. This can be done either with a thermistor on the heatsink or a thermistor underneath. Both of these locations are relatively far away from the source of the heat, so a lot of it has already dissipated. As a result, you get a smaller change in temperature under load.

Heck, I could only get mine to run about 5C hotter under full load... if even that.

Cerb, try running Seti@Home. That should give your cpu a good workout. Any questions come on over to Distributed computing and ask the seti experts.
