Good non-VIA motherboard for 1.4 TBird?

Just what the topic asks...I'm helping a friend build a fast gaming system at the lowest price we can manage. I have a 1.1 TBird and mobo with VIA chipset...let's just say I don't want him to have any chance at the headaches I've had. What would you recommend?

lowest price AND fastest available chipset AND DDR/sdram support

ECS K7S5A

it's the fastest performing chipset available now (sis735)

I've been reading quite a bit about that...hopefully I can take care of the BIOS flashing and make it run well. I've heard it can be found for $65 - what vendors sell it for a good price?

If you really concern about the VIA chipset, the SiS is probably your only option. Even the AMD 761 chipset has a VIA southbridge.
