The BBC have confirmed that an episode of Top Gear will precede the terrestrial premiere of season one of 'Heroes'.

The episode will feature Top Gear's biggest ever race, from Northern Canada to the North Pole. Unlike other races, this features Clarkson and May in the car, a pick up truck, against Hammond, who is using a Dog Sled.

The airing date is confirmed as Wednesday 25th July, at 8pm GMT.

Sweet I love this show! I am a bit confused however....is this for their American based version of the show or is it still for their UK audience?

It's only airing on the UK's BBC Two. The BBC paid a lot of money for the rights to broadcast Heroes in the UK (the source of your confusion?). I'm sure one of your British friends will be more than happy to record it and make a copy available to you. ;)

This is the race (well, one of them - there was also one on a salt flat in Africa) that caused a huge uproar from environmentalists - I recall seeing something about it recently on Autoblog or Jalopnik.

Awesome! Any idea when the next season will start?

Isn't it in October or November?
Last thing I saw was an article written by Clarkson saying it would start some time in October "if they were lucky." The article was written in April at the end of series 9. There hasn't been any official start date set as of yet (at least not that I've seen).

Oh the missed opportunities - little do they know, everyone here who wants to see Heroes has already downloaded it, just as Americans are going to download Top Gear before it hits any US channel. Can't they just broadcast all TV channels everywhere? I want European football channels!

Hmm, does Time Warner Cable offer BBC or BBC2? I don't know if I have that channel!
