Good news for people buying car audio,

Almost all manufacturers will move to the new power rating system next year. Gone are the days when a 150 watt amp could be called 1200 watts. The new rating system is called the CEA rating system. If you are looking for car audio stuff, write that down. Most manufacturers are rating their stuff with it this year.

The technical specs on the CEA ratings are: 14.4 volts at 4 ohms with less than 1% THD.

I thought CEA has been around for a while? Crutchfield has been pushing it for at least a year.

but no one is putting it on the actual product. Next year is supposed to be the first year for that.
