Good Network-attached storage enclosure?

For two hard drives?

I'd like to have them connect to the home network by ethernet cable and have them be accessible to my computer like a regular drive.

It's kinda important that it be fairly reliable because I'd be syncing iTunes libraries on it and iTunes is kinda notorious for not playing well with music libraries stored on external drives.

I use a Synology DS-213 with WD Red drives for media storage and iTunes server. Works well and has been reliable for the 1.5 years I've had it. I've heard nothing but good things about Synology and I can see why. Diskstation (Synology OS) is so easy to setup and use. There is a live demo on their site.

Not sure how much storage you need, but I'm kicking myself for not getting the 4 bay model. Always good to have expansion for future needs. Only downside to all Synology products is they can get pricey.

mmm i am thinking this thread belongs in the storage section.

are you looking for an enclosure itself for a custom unit? or a complete unit like what the poster above stated?

If its the later, it may be better i move you into Memory and Storage.

You can use a Fractal Design Node 304. It's pretty small, silent and i can take up to 6 hard drives.

1.) Here is a pretty nice looking Rosewill four 3.5" HDD enclosure to add to the above recommendation:

2.) For two hard drives, and something on the inexpensive side, I would look at the Apex MI-008:

or the internally identical, Rosewill RS-MI-01:

(Both the APEX and Rosewill come with the AL8250 SFX PSU and can be found for around $40 FS on sale.)
