I know everyone has their own favorite motherboard brand or chipset, but I'm just looking for as many suggestions as possible to look at. I really want something that is stable and fits well in a full tower. Any help would be appreciated.

As far as fitting in a full tower, you shouldn't have any problems as long as it's an ATX case.

I like ASUS, but it depends on what you're using for ram. A DDR system, I'd go with Epox or Iwill. SDR, I'd go Asus A7v133. Anand posted a good board round up, check it out on the main page

SDRAM: Asus A7V133
DDR: MSI K7 Master

those are the most stable boards. If you want to oc, then Epox 8K7A+ (DDR) is the better option.

I have spent the last three weeks trying to get my rig running the way she should -- so let me tell you DO NOT buy an IWILL. The KA266R is what I started out with. Unstable isn't the word for it. This board flat out isn't able to handle the 1.4 T-Bird. I ended up with an Asus A7A266. It has onboard sound just like the IWill and it supports DDR as well as SDR. You get 2 DDR dimm slots (184 pin) and 3 SDR dimm slots, 5 PCI & 1 AGP. If you want to run RAID you'll have to buy a card - it isn't native on this board, but I considered that a worthwhile sacrifice given the outstanding stablity I was able to achieve.

BTW - The AliMagik chipset that is used w/ the Asus board (IWill too) has some compatibility issues regarding sound & video cards. Don't try to put an ATI video card of any sort in it (I finally went with MSI) and don't use Philips sound cards if you purchase the mainboard w/o audio. Trust me.

I will say Epox 8K7A for DDR. I will also suggest that anything you consider in DDR (MSI K7 Master or ASUS as well) look at the KT133A chipset boards that they have. Epox has the 8KTA3, ASUS has the A7V133, and MSI has the K7T Turbo. They all should be decent boards.
