I am currently trying to oc Q9550 ( 2.8 ) to 3.4ghz using sunbeam core contact cooler.

Now only thing i need is motherboard.

I have P5Q pro in my mind at this point but any more recommendation would also be welcome.

there are many good ones

Get one with a heatpipe cooling system for the NB and SB as they heat up a lot when you OC

Is P5Q Pro a good board?

I am going to OC 9550 little and down clock the DDR2 800 ram little
so I can have optimal performance at 1:1.

P5Q Pro is the way to go. Hardware Canucks has an excellent review on it.

What board do you have right now?

I hear DFI boards are beasts for over clocking. Check them out on the Egg.

As good a time as any to make my first post...

I just recently purchased the PQ5 PRO - It's a great board for the money. If all you want is something rock-solid stable with decent OC options then its something you won't regret.

I have mine with an e8400 running stable @ 4 Ghz
