I can't imagine spending $200 on a G3258 + Z97 board + aftermarket cooler instead of a locked i5 + H81/B85 board + stock heatsink for $230. I have a G3258 that I can stably overclock to 4.4 GHz at 1.16V on stock cooling, but I got it in a $75 combo with an H81 board (Gigabyte GA-H81M-DS2V). That deal is long since gone though, and who knows if you'll get a chip with as good an overclock on a stock cooler. Seems like most G3258's should hit 4 GHz on stock cooling based on reviews I have read though. Unless your plan is to use the Z97 board + aftermarket heatsink as part of an upgrade to an i5-4690k or i7-4790k later. Then I could see it.
