For anti ghosting, I would suggest looking at some 120hz monitors. Their fluidity is amazing.
I agree. If quick response times are your goal, you can't go wrong with a 120Hz display like this Acer 23". It doesn't have the best black levels, but that's not why you get it!
Well actually, you can go wrong. That monitor has substantial backlight bleeding and terrible colors. I wish I didn't buy it. And it's not true 120Hz... it has to use an "overdrive" mode to get there making browsing text look pretty bad. And you can't turn off this overdrive mode without going into a special hidden menu of the monitor, so it's not an easy switch you can turn on when browsing vs. gaming and the like.
I have to agree with the ugly colors.
I went to my local Fry's electronics and man, I looked at this monitor (only 3D monitor I saw on display) and the colors looked real dull. Maybe the monitor wasn't calibrated right/brightness was down.
But, now I'm debating on buying it and looking for another monitor.
Well, how about a non-3d monitor? LG W2442PA-BF seems to be good any thoughts?
The out of the box colors are indeed pretty terrible and those can be improved, but it's still not a high quality display. The colors aren't really as big of a deal as the back light bleed. On my display it's all on the bottom. With any relatively dark scene it's VERY noticeable, and I'm not normally the type to pick nits on a monitor. With brighter games (or duing 3D) it's not as bad and you do tend to forget about it when you're into the game, but it's still unacceptable IMO for higher tech display.
It may not be a consistent issue, but I know I've seen others complain too. If I wanted to I could probably open the monitor and seal the bottom edge a little better, but I'd rather not do such a thing.
