At my workplace we just got a whole bunch of 21" monitors that are in perfect condition and I can get one for $250 cdn which I think is very very good deal even though they are used. The monitor is the Sony FD Trinitron here. Any comments would be appreciated, thanks.

EDIT -

I will be using the monitor mostly for gaming.

You might have to purchase a rather expensive adapter in order to connect it to a PC.

At the back there is a connector that only needs a standard cable and noting expensive. Im just wondering about the quality of the monitor,

2 things that would concern me some, 1st would be the refresh rates seem rather low, I'm not sure if you'd be runnin 1600x1200, personally I'd prefer at least 85Hz at that resolution, but look at refresh rates if you wanna go lower, you'd think at lower resolution the refresh would go higher not lower....that could be killer on th eyes, but then again, i've never used that monitor....
2nd not sure if SUN monitors have changed over the years, but a friend of mine, few years back, picked up a SUN monitor, 21" in fact, and it used a proprietary video card, again, maybe this monitor doesn't but I'd check that out.
Since it's through work, maybe you can ask to take home and try it out.

Ok got the monitor today. The model is GDM-5010PT. So far its great and Im loving it. The specs can be viewed here for all who care. Also it does do 85Hz at 1600X1200 which is nice.
