Good mobo for OC the Athlon XP?

What mobos are good for overclocking an Athlon XP, say, 2200+?
Will it make a difference if it is a XP 2600+ in terms of the "final" overclocked speed?

Seems to me that everyone has taking a liking to the ABIT NF7-S V2.0 I think I'm going to pick up one of those boards soon.

You could get a Shuttle AN35N-ULTRA, Same OC options but not as good sound
and no SATA support. Still, the major benefits of the Nforce chipset are there at
about $35 cheaper..

i've tryed 3 nf2 ultra400 motherboards (the chipset you'll wanna get)
asus a7n8x v2.0
dfi lanparty nf2 ultra400
abit nf7-s v2.0

in my opinion the abit motherboard overclocks the best
but the dfi board looks really cool and is fun to show off (also overclocks pretty well, but i had bios issues with it)
the asus board gave me trouble at anything above 195fsb for some reason so i returned it
i feel that these are 3 of the hottest boards and they rank close (despite my experiences)
the other boards out there, I would have to rank in a tie for 2nd or 3rd to these nf2 boards

right now i have the abit ic7 max-3
that should say something about what i've been thinking about abit motherboards lately

I'd absolutely get the Abit NF7-S v1.2 or v2.0. I've had this mobo for a year now and it is incredible! This is the penultimate overclocking mobo, IMHO. I've got my ATHLON XP 2400+ (2.0GHz) on a 266MHz fsb overclocked to 2.5GHz on a 400MHz fsb (12.5x200) using 2.10 volts and is stable and runs all my games without a hiccup!🙂

my gigabyte ga-7n400 pro 2 works really well with kingston hyperx memory, just don't get corsair if you buy the gigabyte. i got my 2500+ to 214fsb p95 stable with this thing. it's good for stability, not good for voltage settings in the bios.

DFI Lan Party NF2 Ultra Rev. B is best nforce 2 U board on market...I have a rev A+ and its at 219 prime stable fsb right now

an35a ultra is the best price/performance board around period. ~$62 and has all the OC features you need. No raid, no sata, no frills fun. Whats best is it comes with a massive passive cooling solution on the north bridge unlike the other boards mentioned which 60mm fans are loud. As far as on-board sound, no humming or hissing is all I care about, and it has that feature.

My next choice is the A7N8X-E Deluxe, again because of passive cooling and rock stable, but it's almost double.

yeah i modded the abit and the asus board
my memory and cpu were holding me back tho
although i never got any of those motherboards fully stable over like 214, the abit board was the clear winner i did somehow manage to benchmark once at like 230fsb on a cold day

Another vote for the NF7-S. It's the only NF2 board that I have tried, but haven't found reason to buy another.
