Hi,
I just bought this processor and want to know a good motherboard that will compliment this guy well. If possible I don't integrated parts.

The abit nf7 (about $75) or nf7s-version 2.0 (about $95-100 at newegg) will work well for you. For low budget, newegg sometimes has a biostar mobo refurbished for $36 shipped with few extras and no overclocking options except fsb. Just be sure you get an nforce2 board, no matter what brand you choose.

There's the ECS L7S7A2. It usually goes for less than $30, brand spanking new, including an internal USB card reader, six-channel sound and LAN. I have been using it quite often recently, most of the time with XP2400+ or Duron 1600. Hasn't let me down yet, performance is quite surprisingly good (see review at ocworkbench.com). Best bargain currently.

MY processor is a Athlon XP (1.8 GHz)

my memory stick is pc 2100 DDR

ATX TOWER + 400 watt power supply

I do have a video card(S3 vidieo magic)

I want to get a good mobo real cheap, Why ? because I bought this desktop pc as a compaq presario 6400 series online (ebay) I have had mostly good experiences with ebay but I got the bad end here... The first time i powered up it said it to please insert the recovery disk , then after i rebooted it it said nadda never again, It died man! I took it to a profesional who told me the cpu and mem was good , that I needed a new mobo.
I spent almost 400 $ on this and I am sad, I know it is not anyones problem but mine. However if you know of a good mobo for a good price that will work with my stuff "for sure" I would be grateful..
these are the 3 that have already been recomended to me, I am very grateful for these recommendations. I need to be very sure that I am going to get something that last.. Mainly so my wife will let me back into the bedroom! PLEASE.... Thankyou guys :eek:P

Asus A7N266-VM/AA

Shuttle MN31N motherboard

Abit NF7-S

Thread hijack! Come on, you've also asked the same question in a separate thread!

a better option if you're on a bugdet is the Albatron KX18D Pro nForce 2 ultra. has all the overclocking options as the Abit NF7-S and DFI boards but without the SATA/RAID for only about $62 at Newegg. a great overall board.
