Hello, recently I bought a gaming laptop and I am now looking for a good solid mouse and mouse pad. I am looking for a mouse that is very sturdy yet not terribly big or expensive. I have looked into Steelseries some but I have no idea of the durability. I am also looking for a mouse pad that would track well yet is very small, and could fit on half the keyboard of a 15 inch laptop. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Oh and I forgot to add in that I will probably be playing a lot of fps games with it, so it needs to track rather good. And don't suggest Razer mice because they tend to not be as sturdy.

Practically any stiff mouse pad, and any small optical mouse not made by Razer, should do, including random-named $10 wireless mice.

I went to Best Buy and some of the other local brick and mortar stores and tried out just about every mouse they had sitting out. I went with weight, size, fit of hand, etc...

I ended up with a Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000. I have no bias to anyone and literally tried all brands that were on display. I think the mouse ran from $15 to $20 and it's probably the best wireless mouse I've used...it's light, small, responsive, and very snappy. I can use it even with a glass desk surface at home without a problem (which is crazy).

I don't find any need for a mouse pad, but of course you can pick one, or use anything with the sort of surface you like for FPS.
