Good midrange noise level 80mm fan

When I first got my Alpha 8045 I was using a Vantec Tornado and while it moved air really well it was just too loud. So I went to the other end of the spectrum and bought a vantec stealth and it is, well, stealthy. But now that I am going to start doing some decent overclocking I think I need something little more powerful. Can anyone suggest a good middle of the road 80mm fan that is a good balance between noise level and air flow?
thanks,

How about one that's got an adjustable fan speed, like the Thermaltake Smart Fan II? That way you can decide for yourself what's the best combination between cooling/noise ... it's also pretty quiet for pumping through as much air as they do ... this is what I'll be using with my MCX462+ a little later this summer. 🙂

I felt the nwas too loud, as a matter of fact about 5 minutes ao I pulled it off my SK-7 and replaced with a SVC branded 80 mm fan and it's pretty quiet but moves more air than a panaflo

i love panaflo's, check out their M1A (middle speed) or H1A (high speed) fans. i have the 92mm H1A on my cpu and its still pretty quiet~

I've had good experiences with the Panaflo L1A's and H1A's; quiet, and enough CFM for what I need them for (6HD's, R9700, oc'ed 1700+ Tbred-B)

What is a resonable price to pay for a panaflo fan? I found the HA1 for $11 + $2.50 for a tail. That seems resonable to me, but I figured I'd ask.

ack, 11$ is a bit high. seen em for 4.50, maybe it was 5.50 somewhere, but u'd have to get 4 (edited from 3) of em to get over the $20 per purchase limit.. which isn't to big of a deal imo.. i don't remember the website, someone posted it on a diff thread..maybe search for "h1a".

edit: yeah, i can add. =P

But arent the fan controlers more than the $14 for a panaflo? Plus, it would require extra cables in my case and I like to keep it pretty 🙂. But seriously, what would I pay for a fan controller?
thanks,

Sunbeam Rheobus
Thats the one I have now. I first order the Galaxy Rheobus due to the cheap price.. but it also seems to be a cheap design.. I ended up sending mine back, the potentiometers quit working, the voltage got stuck at max, some knobs were harder to turn than others (bad potentiometers..) So I wouldn't recommend the "cheapy" ones. The Sunbeam seems pretty good, knobs (ptotentiometers work well). Only problem I had was that one of the LEDs are stuck "blue" no matter where I adjust the voltage to. The voltage changes just fine, but the LED doesn't change colors as it should. I contacted JabTech about it, they said to contact the .. maker, they gave me an email addy, the guy I talked to asked for company name and name, and that was it.. didn't ever get a reply back or hear anything more. So who knows, maybe Sunbeam's a bunk company as well. Maybe I just have $hit for luck w/ dealing w/ customer service.. But, thats just my experiance. So in short, a fan controller will prob run ya 10-20 $ depending on what you find/get..
