good mic for gaming?

Anyone know of a good mic, preferrably a minimal over-the-ear piece, to use with voicecomm software for gaming?

I already have good speakers, I don't want any headphones covering my ears, I just want a microphone that'll sound clear as I move around a foot or two.

Any suggestions?

I'm tempted to buy a cheapo mono headphone over-the-ear-loop + mic unit and just cut out the earbud =P
